Kurdistan-born, NOVA-bred new wave rap artist Nobel brings a refreshing take to the Rap/R&B sounds we know and love. He reflects and represents what this country is and meant to be. Born during the Iraq war, Nobel and his family were refugees, finding refuge in the Northern Virginia area. His early influences came from the heavy hitters of 90s rap: Tupac and Bone Thugs N Harmony, to name a few. The observant and intrinsically artistic Nobel quickly understood that the power of music lies in the truth. He started writing poetry, which quickly evolved into spoken word and rap lyrics. As he’s evolved as an artist, his influences included artists in alternative music and rock. That new wave energy palpable in his music today.
