As an emerging media conglomerate based in the Washington DC metropolitan area, better known as the DMV (DC, Maryland, Virginia), we’ve been fortunate enough to witness a few musicians from the area garner national and/or international attention. But make no mistake, the realization that there hasn’t been many to blow is not an indictment on the incredibly talented musicians that exist in the DMV melting pot. You see, the talent brewing throughout this area is fruitful, diverse and just waiting to erupt if given the right opportunities to shine. Respectfully speaking, one of the main elements that could push the DMV scene to the forefront is a consistent stream of intentional collaborations by rising talent within the area.

There are too many examples to reference, so without naming them all - take some time to digest what the Atlanta, Georgia Hip-Hop community has been doing for 20+ years or so. That ego-less mentality has been a key factor in propelling ATL to the spotlight…with that said, James Moss Jr. is attempting to reinvigorate the DMV music scene past the proverbial “glass ceiling” that currently exists.
